What the walls are telling you before anyone opens a can
A house tells you what it has been through, and the walls keep the record. Hairline cracks run off the corners of door frames where North Texas clay has swelled and shrunk under the slab. West-facing windows fade one wall while its neighbor stays true. Hallways scuff at hand height, and the wall behind a range picks up a film that paint will not grip.
Paint over damage that was never repaired and it still shows. A patch that skipped primer dries as a dull square under the sheen, and a crack that was only painted over reopens along the same line. Most interior repaints that disappoint were rushed through the steps nobody sees.

Taped, cleaned, repaired, primed, then painted
State 28 Painting Company paints the inside of Dallas-Fort Worth homes in that order. Furniture gets covered, surfaces get cleaned, repairs and priming come before color, and the finish is crisp lines along the ceiling and trim. Wall painting, ceilings, trim and baseboards, accent walls and textured finishes are all part of the same job, and a project manager is on the job site for every one of them.
You do the small part: remove loose items, cover furniture where you can, and clean the walls. The crew handles the rest, including any repairs and priming. On average a standard room takes four to six hours, and larger rooms or rooms that need a lot of prep take longer.
Color is settled before the first coat. The in-house color consultant helps you narrow palettes and test colors on the wall, and existing colors can be matched for touch-ups or a partial room, so a repaired corner does not read as a different shade.
After the last coat, and what usually goes with it
Fresh wall paint feels dry within hours and keeps hardening for days. For the first couple of weeks, wipe marks with a barely damp cloth instead of scrubbing, and label the leftover can with the room and the date so a future touch-up is easy to match.
Interior work rarely stops at the walls. Ceilings, doors and cabinets are the surfaces people add once the first room looks right, and they are easiest to do while the crew is already on site and the furniture is already covered. If your project is in the Grapevine area or anywhere across the Metroplex, call (214) 771-9145 and ask about the rooms together.

State 28 Painting did an incredible job painting the interior of our home! They were very easy to work with when setting up and scheduling the project and kept us updated throughout. They finished on time even though we requested a few changes once they got started.
Ceilings, doors and cabinets each have their own page: Ceiling Painting, Door Painting and Kitchen Cabinet Painting. Cabinets that need more than a repaint go through Cabinet Refinishing.
